Listening Landscapes is an ongoing project which celebrates the rich ecology of the River Derwent by responding creatively to the places most treasured by its local communities. It continues the long-established tradition of wild places as a source of inspiration for the arts - listening to the river itself and responding with music.

In late February 2021, hydrophone and stereo field recordings were made at sites including Padley Gorge, the River Wye, Highlow Brook and reworked into audio compositions, soundscapes responding to the unique locations from which they originate.
